In the heart of Göteborg, the historical Nordstan mall has been in operation since 1972. For several years, the leading mall of the Scandinavia region went through a complete renovation process along the surrounding district.

ViaDirect and Clear Channel Sweden then partnered to equip the new looking mall with a set of 7 huge Pelikan totems.

Those vertical totems each hold 3 screens: 1 big 75’’ vertical screen on one side and one 49” screen on the other displaying Clear Channel commercial videos. One horizontal 43’’ touch screen on the front displays the ViaDirect wayfinding software for user interaction.

The visitors turn their heads to the huge video display and end up touching the interactive screen for information and guidance throughout the mall.

Emblematic downtown since the 70s, Nordstan was previously using a commonly diagnosed obsolete wayfinding solution. Fortunately, millions of annual visitors will now appreciate not only their shopping mall’s new look but a highly efficient and ergonomic new wayfinding solution.

Minimalistic in appearance, the 3D ViaDirect map of the mall is in fact conceived and visually optimized to give the user instant and understandable information about where he chooses to go inside the 70 000 m2 of retails and restaurants surface.

Through an easy-to-use wayfinding search engine, the ViaDirect software offers quick access and itineraries to all retail, services, and restaurants available (see side note).

After providing the furniture and hardware and taking care of the actual installation, ViaDirect is co-managing with Clear Channel Sweden the various software streams and daily support.

Clear Channel takes care of the video streams while ViaDirect supervises its wayfinding software solution.
