We are proud to announce ViaDirect’s first installation in Ecuador. It is located at El Recreo Shopping Mall, one of the most emblematic landmarks in Quito, province of Pichincha. With 5 levels and more than 500 stores, this shopping center is a true meeting point for thousands of visitors every day.
The Challenge: Indoor Orientation in a Large-Scale Shopping Center
El Recreo Shopping Mall has multiple floors, hundreds of stores, and a wide variety of restaurants and entertainment options. As a result, finding a specific store or service often became a challenge. This situation affected not only the shopping experience of visitors but also how brands connected with their customers. Moreover, traditional paper maps were no longer sufficient for such a dynamic environment.
The Solution: Web and Mobile Integration with ViaDirect
To optimize indoor orientation and give brands greater visibility, we introduced a fully integrated ecosystem of digital & interactive solutions. This includes:
- A 3D interactive map covering all 5 levels of the shopping center
- Information about events, promotions, schedules, and shopping offers
- Immediate sending of itineraries via SMS directly to the visitor’s smartphone
- A multilingual interface with your colors in Spanish and English
- Versions for both web and ViaDirect Mobile, ensuring access on any device
A Collaborative Project
This project was made possible thanks to the joint effort of El Recreo’s management, marketing, and IT departments, in close collaboration with the ViaDirect team. Together, we developed an innovative digital wayfinding solution that improves the visitor journey daily and strengthens the visibility of the shopping offers and stores present throughout the center.
As part of the strategy, ViaDirect supported El Recreo in the planning and placement of multiple QR Codes across the shopping center. This allows users to instantly access the digital orientation platform on their smartphone, making the most of the interactive maps, mobile solution, and itineraries offered.
