ViaDirect has installed its wayfinding interactive kiosks in a new Hong Kong shopping mall, previously a historical cotton-spinning factory.
In business for 65 years in Hong Kong, the Nan Fung Textiles company, now a real estate group, undertook between 2014 and 2018 the transformation of its historical cotton-spinning complex factory (known as mills 4, 5, and 6), of Tsuen Wan district, into a contemporary shopping mall.
Accurately baptized The Mills, the Hong Kong unusually privately funded, commercial and architectural revitalization project has become an experimental mall including a technology and fashion incubator, exhibition spaces, and workshops. The rooftop presents an interactive mural that explores Hong Kong’s fabric heritage.
In full coordination with local partner AVT, ViaDirect has equipped the Mills with 7 vertical 3D wayfinding kiosks.
They offer visitors and shoppers every information needed about this new mall center, as the opportunity to discover in real-time its activities and, of course, find their way towards one of the 150 retail shops, restaurants, or services.
The ViaDirect software suite of The Mills includes…
- A full 3D interactive map of the 5 levels building
- Personalized itineraries search
- Individual itinerary sent to cell phone
- An alphabetical search of shops, restaurants, and services, also by category and floor
- Dynamic display of events in real-time
- The historical narrative about the Mills previously cotton-spinning factory complex of Hong Kong
- Listing of services and public transportation
- The user interface in Traditional Chinese and English
