Visitors to City2 Shopping Center in Brussels continue to enjoy an intuitive navigation experience powered by the ViaDirect wayfinding solution, developed in collaboration with our long-time partner JCDecaux Belux.

Launched in 2019, this project remains a strong example of how innovation and reliability can improve the daily experience of thousands of visitors in one of Belgium’s most iconic malls.

A Landmark Shopping Destination in the Heart of Brussels

Located in the former “Au Bon Marché” department store, near the Boulevard du Jardin Botanique, City2 stands as a central retail hub in Brussels. Owned by the Ageas Group, the mall opened in 1978 and is still the second-largest shopping center in Belgium, covering 51,000 m² across four levels.

City2 features nearly 100 shops, including Fnac, Esprit, Zara, and a Carrefour supermarket, offering a mix of convenience and variety. With direct access to Rogier metro station, the center is also one of the most easily reachable malls in the capital.

An Interactive and Multilingual Wayfinding Solution

To enhance the visitor journey, JCDecaux installed seven interactive totems equipped with ViaDirect’s digital wayfinding software. This intuitive system helps visitors navigate the entire mall effortlessly and includes the following features:

  • A 3D interactive map covering the four levels and parking areas.
  • Store browsing by category, such as Beauty & Health, Food & Beverages, Entertainment, and more.
  • Alphabetical and keyword search to quickly locate specific shops.
  • Real-time display of events and news within the shopping center.
  • Guidance to public transport connections.
  • A multilingual user interface available in French, Dutch, and English.

This modern system not only facilitates orientation but also strengthens City2’s brand image as a forward-thinking and customer-focused retail destination.
