Since 2023, ViaDirect has been supporting PERUMIN in continuously improving its wayfinding experience. It all began when the organizing team discovered our solution through a project implemented at Mall Aventura Arequipa. From that moment, a clear need emerged: to deploy interactive kiosks and a navigation platform capable of handling the complexity of a large-scale event.
As a result, a strategic decision was made. Not only was the solution implemented, but the kiosks were also acquired, establishing a long-term partnership based on the continuous evolution of the platform and its content.
A solution designed for a large-scale event
As part of PERUMIN 37 Mining Convention, ViaDirect deployed a comprehensive digital wayfinding solution designed to facilitate the journey of thousands of attendees.
To achieve this, seven interactive kiosks were installed at key locations throughout the venue. Through these devices, visitors were able to quickly orient themselves and access essential information such as restrooms, food and beverage areas, exhibitor companies, conference rooms, and commercial spaces.
In addition, the platform integrated real-time information, including the general conference program, commercial session schedules, and official transportation routes. In this way, wayfinding became not only spatial, but also informational.
Innovations enhancing the visitor experienc
Compared to previous editions, significant improvements were implemented to optimize the overall experience.
On one hand, the visual identity was completely updated, including logos and program content. On the other hand, the database was expanded to include up to 850 points of interest, allowing for much more comprehensive event coverage.
Furthermore, the search engine was optimized, making it easier to locate destinations by event name or pavilion. This was complemented by the addition of detailed conference profiles, accessible directly from the main screen, enabling attendees to better plan their visit.
Enhanced wayfinding: digital and physical
At the same time, physical signage was improved to complement the digital experience. Pavilion names were integrated into the corridors, and a clear distinction was established between national and international zones.
Thanks to this combined approach, navigation became more intuitive, even during peak attendance periods, reducing congestion and improving the flow of movement.
Results: a smoother, more efficient experience
As a result, ViaDirect helped deliver a clearer, more modern, and more efficient experience at PERUMIN 37. Wayfinding friction was reduced, while attendee autonomy significantly increased.
Consequently, the event reached a higher level of organization, aligned with the standards of a leading international mining convention.
