ViaDirect now equips Budapest International Airport with 2 interactive wayfinding kiosks model Lémurien with a 49” screen and a pocket to put brochures on the furniture. In addition, the kiosks incorporate a backlit “i” to improve the visibility of the furniture.
Budapest International Airport Ferenc Liszt, renamed in 2011 in honor of the most famous Hungarian composer on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of his birth, welcomed 16.2 million passengers who can travel to 153 destinations in 49 different countries. It offers international connections mainly in Europe, but also in Africa, the Middle East, and North America.
Budapest is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and the “pearl” of the Danube. Its panorama, the Buda Castle District, Andrássy Avenue, and the Millennium Monument are part of the UNESCO World Heritage. An important tourist destination, the city attracts more than 4.3 million visitors a year.
It is the largest city in the country and is home to the Hungarian Parliament, the country’s ministerial buildings and embassies, as well as the headquarters of companies based in Hungary.
The software developed by ViaDirect enables the display of essential information such as boarding gates, departures, and arrivals. All shops, services, and restaurants are displayed as destinations on the 3D map of the airport. In addition, the kiosks include a QR Code reader to scan boarding passes and show passengers all the information they need to arrive at their gate. The software interface has been custom-developed for the airport, in Hungarian and English.
