Interactive Kiosks to Enhance Navigation and Customer Engagement

We’ve installed an innovative interactive kiosk solution in the heart of Paris at Forum des Halles (12 interactive kiosks). Designed in collaboration with Westfield, this solution enhances navigation and optimizes customer flow management within the shopping center.

Interactive Kiosks with a Duo of Screens for Two Uses

The MapWall is a vertical interactive kiosk with a large horizontal screen for display and a “controller,” a 10-inch touchscreen that operates the top screen.

Increased Visibility and Interactivity

Visitors can simultaneously view the interactive map and the store list, visible from a distance and appearing static. Additionally, they can search for stores on the controller, with the geolocated route displayed directly on the main screen’s map.

In fact, this duo of screens and its original design allows us to serve different types of audiences simultaneously: passersby looking to orient themselves or validate their direction, as well as those seeking specific stores or routes. Consequently, this solution eliminates the need for queues in front of traditional interactive kiosks, which can only be used by one person at a time.

Features and Synchronization

We’ve connected the MapWall to Westfield’s APIs and its digital ecosystem, enabling users to access news, promotions, and movie showtimes. Furthermore, we synchronize the content automatically and daily to facilitate the management of updates within the center.

Originally, we designed ViaDirect’s digital wayfinding solution for Forum des Halles as a fixed tool. However, we enhanced it with our new product, ViaDirect Mobile. By simply scanning a QR Code from the interactive kiosk or any other location where the code is displayed, users can easily be guided on their smartphones.

The MapWall goes beyond just an interactive kiosk, showcasing our commitment to offering a customer-centered service and setting the standard for digital wayfinding solutions.

Hugo Rey, Regional Director and General Manager at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, shared his excitement about the MapWall, stating:

In conclusion, if you want to improve your shopping center’s digital wayfinding system and create a more interactive and personalized shopping experience for your visitors, now is the perfect time to invest in this innovative digital wayfinding solution.
