For several years, ViaDirect has been helping visitors navigate Italie Deux, one of Paris’s leading shopping centers. This long-standing partnership recently reached a new milestone with the complete renewal of the center’s interactive wayfinding kiosks. The upgrade reflects a relationship built on trust while demonstrating how digital wayfinding solutions continue to evolve alongside technology and visitor expectations.

A Complete Wayfinding Solution

Spread across three levels, Italie Deux offers a diverse mix of fashion retailers, flagship stores, restaurants, and leisure facilities. To help visitors find their way, the shopping center has deployed seven Gazelle interactive kiosks throughout its main circulation areas.

Each kiosk features:

  • a 43-inch touchscreen display;
  • multilingual wayfinding software available in French and English;
  • a dedicated VDBOX and PC for remote management;
  • an intuitive interface that requires no app download or installation.

With these kiosks, visitors can search for stores by name or category, locate restaurants and services, find parking areas, identify public transportation access points, and browse information about events and gift cards. As a result, the solution supports both quick shopping trips and longer family visits.e visite rapide qu’à une journée de shopping en famille.

Clear Navigation Across Three Levels

An effective wayfinding system should accurately reflect the layout of the building. At Italie Deux, each floor has its own purpose, making navigation intuitive.

Level 1 welcomes visitors with major retail brands and provides convenient access from Avenue d’Italie and Place Bobillot.

Level 2 brings together most fashion stores, services, and restaurants. It also houses the main reception desk, taxi stand, and the majority of public transportation connections, making it the shopping center’s primary circulation hub.

Level 3 is dedicated to leisure, entertainment, and family activities, encouraging visitors to extend their stay.

Thanks to this clear organization, the digital wayfinding system guides visitors smoothly regardless of where they enter the shopping center.

Accessibility as a Priority

A successful wayfinding experience extends beyond the kiosk itself. At Italie Deux, vertical circulation revolves around a central pair of escalators located beneath the Atrium’s glass roof, which also serves as a prominent visual landmark.

In addition, ViaDirect works closely with its clients to ensure that wayfinding information reflects the building’s accessibility requirements. This ongoing collaboration helps every visitor—including people with reduced mobility—move through the shopping center as easily and comfortably as possible

A Partnership Built to Last

What makes the partnership between ViaDirect and Italie Deux unique is its continuity. After several years of collaboration, the shopping center chose to renew its interactive kiosk fleet instead of replacing the solution altogether. This decision highlights the confidence placed in ViaDirect and the quality of support provided over time.

More broadly, this renewal reflects ViaDirect’s long-term vision. Digital wayfinding is not a one-time project but an evolving service. As retail environments, tenant mixes, and visitor expectations change, the wayfinding solution adapts through continuous updates and, when needed, hardware modernization.
