Mundo E is a shopping center operated by Frisa (LMF Frisa Comercial) in Tlalnepantla de Baz, in the Mexico City metropolitan area. It was one of ViaDirect’s first deployments in Mexico, following the opening of our Mexico City regional office, and Frisa was the third Mexican shopping center operator to trust ViaDirect with its visitor orientation.
Today, ViaDirect supports more than 450 venues in over 35 countries, with Latin America as one of its key markets. Mundo E shows what that experience looks like in practice: a solution that is installed, maintained and renewed over the years.
What visitors can do at Mundo E
The 12 touchscreen kiosks give visitors a fast, intuitive way to find their way around the center. They can:
- Search for stores, restaurants, services and parking, by category or in alphabetical order
- Follow real-time 3D guidance to their destination
- Discover current promotions and be guided straight to the store offering them
- Check the events taking place in the center
- Scan a QR code to reach the center’s social networks

An interface built around the visitor, and a screen that works for the center
At Mundo E, the kiosks do two jobs. When nobody is using them, they act as a digital advertising screen: the screensaver plays full-screen campaigns from restaurants and brands in the center, turning every kiosk into an additional media space for the operator and its tenants. As soon as a visitor touches the screen, the advertising gives way to the ViaDirect interface, and the visitor can search for exactly what they need.

From the home screen, visitors can browse stores from A to Z or by category, find transport and parking, explore cafés and restaurants, check services, and see current promotions and events. The interface is available in Spanish and English, and a built-in accessibility mode adapts the display for all users.
Once a destination is selected, the 3D map draws the route from the kiosk, indicates the floor to go to and tells visitors whether they are already on the same level as their destination. They can also send the route to their phone and keep walking with it. The date, time and local weather stay visible at the top of the screen, and the whole interface follows the visual identity of Mundo E.

Custom-designed kiosks, built with a local partner
Each kiosk has a 55″ vertical touchscreen, chosen for ease of use and maximum legibility. The terminals are custom-designed and were manufactured in Mexico by our partner Kolo, which guarantees quick response for hardware maintenance and makes the most of local know-how.
When idle, the kiosks display advertising content. As soon as a visitor touches the screen, the ViaDirect wayfinding interface opens. This gives the center a useful orientation tool and an additional space for its own messages.
Kept up to date: software migration and maintenance
A wayfinding system is only useful if it keeps working and keeps evolving. Since its launch, the Mundo E installation has been updated and maintained by ViaDirect’s teams:
- 2022: migration of the software from version 3 to version 4 of the ViaDirect platform
- 2023 to 2024: progressive replacement of components across the 12 kiosks (screens, media players, touch frames and network equipment), so every unit keeps performing as on day one
- January 2026: on-site inspection and maintenance, including checks of the kiosk structures, cleaning, and verification of internet and cable connectivity
This ongoing support, delivered by ViaDirect and its local team, is what keeps the experience reliable for visitors and the investment protected for the operator.
