La Vache Noire, in Arcueil (94), is a shopping mall of 120 shops and restaurants with a roof garden. Managed by SCC, it was the second mall of the group, after Avant Cap at Plan de Campagne, to choose ViaDirect. Since 2018, ViaDirect has equipped it with interactive wayfinding, and in September 2025 the mall renewed its kiosks and software for the third time.

What makes this project different: guiding visitors beyond the mall walls

Most wayfinding projects stop at the mall’s doors. At La Vache Noire, the software also helps visitors plan the rest of their trip. They can check in real time:

  • Metro, tram, RER and bus travel times
  • Traffic information
  • Shared-bike availability
  • Mall offers and news

A software that evolves with the mall

The first version of the software offered 3D wayfinding and real-time transport information. Over the years it has grown with the mall’s needs:

  • Real-time multi-floor 3D wayfinding, with search and routes oriented to the user’s view
  • API synchronization of shops, destinations and content with the mall’s website, so kiosks, web and mobile always show the same information
  • Routes sent by SMS and promotions sent by email
  • Offers, loyalty programme and public-transport timetables in one module
  • Remote supervision (VDBox) for real-time monitoring of the kiosks and of the software, with next-day incident management

The kiosks: two generations, one partnership

The installation includes 4 Gazelle kiosks with a 40″ screen and an NFC reader. Gazelle combines the latest screen and touch-frame technologies in a slim, robust and modern design. For La Vache Noire, the kiosks were adapted to receive a thermal printer that issues discount coupons, closing the loop between digital guidance and in-store visits.

Standard ViaDirect features also deployed:

  • Real-time 3D wayfinding with multi-floor view
  • Multitouch map of the mall
  • Search by theme or destination
  • Animated user interface
  • Offers and news display
  • Real-time equipment monitoring and next-day incident management, including weekends and public holidays
