In collaboration with Westfield, 12 interactive kiosks have been deployed to simplify navigation and optimize visitor flow across one of Europe’s busiest shopping destinations.
A New Generation of Interactive Kiosks
The MapWall introduces a unique approach to digital wayfinding. This vertical interactive kiosk combines:
- A large horizontal display screen for high-visibility content
- A 10-inch touchscreen “controller” for user interaction
As a result, this dual-screen design creates a more intuitive and efficient navigation experience while setting a new standard for interactive kiosks in shopping centers.
Enhanced Visibility and Seamless Interactivity
With the MapWall, visitors can:
- View the interactive plan and store directory simultaneously
- Easily locate stores and services from a distance
- Search for destinations via the controller
- Instantly display geolocated routes on the main screen
Moreover, the system allows multiple users to interact at the same time. While some visitors quickly orient themselves using the main screen, others actively search and plan their routes via the controller.
This innovative setup eliminates queues typically associated with traditional kiosks, improving both accessibility and overall visitor satisfaction.
Connected to a Dynamic Digital Ecosystem
The MapWall is fully integrated with Westfield’s digital ecosystem through API connections, allowing visitors to access:
- Latest news and events
- Promotions and special offers
- Cinema showtimes
Content is automatically synchronized on a daily basis, ensuring up-to-date information while simplifying management for the shopping center teams.
Extending the Experience with Mobile Wayfinding
Originally designed as an on-site solution, the system has been enhanced with ViaDirect Mobile, extending navigation beyond the kiosk.
By scanning a QR code available on the kiosk or throughout the center, visitors can:
- Access the interactive plan on their smartphone
- Generate personalized routes
- Navigate seamlessly across the center in real time
This omnichannel approach ensures continuity between physical and mobile touchpoints, creating a truly connected visitor journey.
