Covéa, France’s leading mutual insurance group has transformed the experience of employees and visitors at its Paris headquarters. The company implemented a fully digital and interactive wayfinding solution.

The project uses interactive kiosks to help users find spaces, services, and information. It creates a simpler and more connected experience throughout the workplace.

A Digital Wayfinding Solution for Smart, Connected Workspaces

ViaDirect worked closely with the client to develop a solution for its modern office environment. The company has more than 100 equipped locations and a strong focus on R&D.

The kiosks give employees and visitors quick access to useful information and services. They also support several key functions:

Key features include:

  • Guidance to key services: Users can easily locate meeting rooms, cafeterias, concierge services, work areas, transportation options, and more.
  • Real-time information: Data integration allows the kiosks to display up-to-date information, such as room availability, catering schedules, or transportation updates.
  • Multichannel experience: Wayfinding services are available through kiosks, web platforms, and mobile devices, providing a consistent user experience and centralized management.
  • Internal communications: The screens can also display images, text, videos, and other content to keep employees informed.
  • Contextual information: Content can be adapted to the user’s context and profile, making it easier to access information about visitors, departments, services, or events.

A Wayfinding Experience Designed for Large Offices

In April 2015, the renovated Tivoli complex welcomed approximately 800 employees. The site covers 20,000 m² across seven buildings, requiring a solution capable of making navigation easier throughout this large and complex environment.

To meet this need, 39 kiosks were installed in high-traffic areas, including elevator exits, reception areas, and corridors.

The devices, available in Lémurien models with 48-inch and 22-inch screens, allow users to navigate independently and quickly find their destination.

Customized Design Integrated into the Workspace

Beyond wayfinding technology, the design of the devices was a key element of the project.

ViaDirect developed customized kiosks that were accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM), combining ergonomics, accessibility, and aesthetics. Made from brushed stainless steel and Quebec oak, the devices integrate seamlessly into the office architecture without compromising visibility or functionality.

Integrated LEDs improve the visibility of the kiosks and make them easier to identify throughout the building.

Bespoke Kiosks for Premium Areas

Some areas of the headquarters required a particularly refined design. For spaces such as the “President” area and the reception located at the top of the grand staircase, ViaDirect developed an exclusive version of the kiosk.

Handcrafted from polished brass, this version combines the functionality of a digital wayfinding tool with a premium design, demonstrating how technology can be seamlessly integrated even into the most prestigious corporate spaces.

Improving the Experience for Employees and Visitors

The experience within large corporate buildings depends not only on architecture and available services. Being able to easily find a destination, access up-to-date information, and receive clear directions is also an essential part of the user experience.

Through this project, the mutual insurance group created a more connected working environment, facilitating the movement of employees and visitors while centralizing different information and communication services.

ViaDirect’s expertise enables the development of customized digital wayfinding solutions, adapted to the architecture, user flows, and specific requirements of each location.
